The Fleet Commander of Western Naval Command (WNC), Rear Admiral Daniel Ikoli, has been found dead at his Apapa, Lagos residence.
Multiple
reports say the Naval officer may have committed suicide as he was
found in a pool of his blood with three bullets on the floor.
According
to Ikoli's aide, a boy who lives at his home claimed he heard gunshot
from the deceased's room. Ikoli was said to be alone in the room at the
time.
The aide said: "The boy said he heard
gunshot and when he did, he took cover. His wife is in Abuja and his
children school abroad. His orderly and Naval Assistant (NA) usually go
after dropping him.
"The bullet hit him
on the chest. Three bullets were seen in his room. No one can really
tell what happened but the position he was seen suggests he might have
been scared of something or someone.
"He
was a nice and intelligent officer. He was the one who spearheaded the
renovations at BEECROFT when he was Commander. It’s a sad news really."
Ikoli
was the Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT and later
appointed into the presidential committee on the probe of arms deal.

Yiza Liman, 30, had painted a gloomy picture of a disaster as she
watched her two year-old daughter, Kyellu rushed into the UNICEF health
centre in the city of Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
This is because Kyellu’s tiny little body and eyes sharpened with fear
had sent shivers down her spine.
In distress and confusion, she retreated into the hospital ward as
health worker, Babagana Mustapha, immediately detected severe
malnutrition in Kyellu’s body. Read more: https://www.naij.com/1098141-inspiring-how-2-year-girl-escaped-boko-haram-fought-malaria-stay-alive.html
