Efe Ejeba: What does BBN winner need to succeed in the music industry?

All Efe needs to do right now is focus on his content. The music will pay for itself.

Efe Ejeba has blown.
He is the winner of the 2017 Big Brother Nigeria. A feat that has thrown blessings his way, including a N25 million pay cheque, a brand new SUV ride, and most importantly, the gift of fame.

What more can a man ask for?
A chance to become a music star. This current position of Efe is meant to be hi starting point. Big Brother Nigeria offered him a platform and some money to start off into any field. And music is his field.
Before BBN, Efe was a young hustling upcoming rapper, who has an EP out titled “Lagos.” The project was reviewed by Pulse Nigeria, and you can read it here. It was a poor project, inhibited by the lack of investment. He has N25 million burning in his pocket now, and somewhere someone is whispering to him to chase this music thing.
If Efe decides to do music, he has to seek external investment because he is a juicy prospect. Half the job of making a star in Nigeria is to achieve fame. Millions are spent into marketing an artist to the public, before introducing the art. Efe already has that sorted. He is as famous as they come. Right now, he is the most popular man in Nigeria.
That’s half the job done.
All Efe needs to do right now is focus on his content. The music will pay for itself. He already has offers from businessmen to invest in his career. But the quality of his content is still suspect. Efe’s last body of work – “Lagos” – was a horrible project. And that’s where he needs to focus.
He can’t be a rapper. He has to be a musician who can switch between both lanes, and find good producers to connect with and generate pop music. That’s all he needs now.
And collaborations will not be a bad idea. Every endorsement and verse from an established act is a blessing and needs to be utilized well. That’s the secret of starting out ahead. He needs development as an artist to be great. But to be on the right track takes a lot of work. That’s where he needs to be.
And then there’s the issue of management. He has to get that right. Someone that can exact a clear amount of control over his business. And guide him right. That’s all he  needs right now.
Every other thing is secondary.
